13 viewsAirline: Fuerza Aérea EcuatorianaType: Lockheed C-130BRegistration: FAE894Airport: UIOCity: QuitoState: N/ACountry: EcuadorDate Taken: December 2009Several times a week the C-130 departs early for Guayaquil and is gone most of the day. The interesting fact I learned is any Ecuadorian citizen can fly on an air force aircraft to another Ecuador city for around $30. This includes the C-130, 727, and HS-748. So if you see one it most likely is carrying non-military personnel.

14 viewsAirline: Fuerza Aérea EcuatorianaType: British Aerospace BAe-748 Registration: FAE743Airport: UIOCity: QuitoState: N/ACountry: EcuadorDate Taken: December 2009Angled downward on the usual steep attitude of the 748. Quito is a city filled with sounds of horns, whistles, and old screaming aircraft engines. Still amazing to hear the crackle of those 737-200 engines as they power for takeoff. I remember that sound I used to hear when I was a child visiting my grandparents in the neighborhoods of Chicago Midway airport.

Checking I found the Indian air force still using them as well as a few transports in Canada and Africa. None that I know of in the USA.
