The downside is the difficulty to find Avgas and the maintenance labor cost which is considered at 12 hours per each flight hour. Spare parts could also be a problem but they estimate they will have enough in stock to keep the last DC-6 flying until 2015.

Later moving on to Conair,a Canadian forestry airtanker service, in 1988 for fires throughout the Providences before being purchased by Everts in 2000 as Conair has mostly transitioned to Convair 580 turboprop tankers.
