315 viewsAirline: Everts Air FuelType: Douglas DC-6Registration: N7780BAirport: FAICity: FairbanksState: AlaskaCountry: USADate Taken: May 12, 2010Interesting... The Howard Hughes nose art image is a tribute to this aircraft. Howard had purchased this six from Douglas and it only had just over 9 flight hours! It was stored forgotten in an Opa Locka, Florida hangar in a very professionally preserved state. All the fluids were drained, windows and doors sealed, and they even fogged the interior of the fuel tanks to keep the sealants from drying and cracking. It was resurrected by Northern Air Cargo in 1973 then Everts as a fueler. What a find!
