This fire has been hard to tackle as the smoke it creates has been lingering in the valley where it's located. Not until winds can develop and move the smoke can the airtankers begin their assault.

409 viewsAirline: Everts Air CargoType: Douglas DC-6Registration: N6174CAirport: ANCCity: AnchorageState: AlaskaCountry: USADate Taken: May 8, 2010Good weather and a nice DC-6 takeoff, what else could I ask for? Highlight of a beautiful day in the last frontier. This DC-6 named "Good Grief" was aquired from Northern Air Cargo and is the only Everts with the white upper fuselage and a white tail which is what NAC used. I call it a hybrid scheme.
